Senior Data Analyst, Growth

Major Goals:

  • Support company OKRs and initiatives by collaborating with product owners/managers, SMEs, legal, engineers, and other partners across the entire organization to ensure user observability.
  • Informs product, design, engineering and monetization by connecting data insights with broader business goals during product evaluations.
  • Diplomatically help drive impactful revenue, user engagement, user acquisition, and observability initiatives while collaborating with other analysts, developers, designers, researchers, product managers, stakeholders, and partners across the organization.
  • Prioritize and balance multiple data analysis workstreams efficiently, provide data-driven insights to stakeholders.
    Possess a mastery in locating specific data within Sinclair- 's various data systems.
  • Mastery in visualizing data to for clear communication of business-critical information.
  • Own data validation efforts, verifying accuracy of collected data by either or both human and artificial agents.
    Able to effectively convey to leadership analysis objectives, evaluations, discoveries, and rationale.

  • Assumes a leadership role by bringing strategic thinking: can identify the right questions, connect insights, and convey uncovered narratives in an impactful way.
  • Coach and inspire colleagues by advocating and promoting the value of observability and data driven decision making.
  • Mentor data analysts and data developers sharing best data practices to promote reporting accuracy and efficiency.

  • Regularly evaluates existing processes and tools, making recommendations for improvements to enhance data analysis efficiency and impact.

  • Mastery in the Databricks systems, AI agent validation and reporting functions.
  • Implements systems that are reliable, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective, ensuring data analysis can be conducted across multiple platforms and products.
  • Proactively removes silos. Unafraid to work outside of the core discipline.
  • Consistently shares progress and eagerly seeks feedback, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the product growth team and across the organization.
  • Develop expertise in; knowledge of first-party data, programmatic advertising, consumer data, sales, marketing, and effective technical delivery, programmatic advertising, first-party data and leads generation, and registration business model.
    Require very little oversight beyond high-level direction.

  • Ensures efforts are directly aligned with business objectives, ensuring achievable, measurable, and impactful goals are pursued.
  • Effectively leads data analysis by clearly summarizing key insights and prioritizing main takeaways to spark meaningful discussions. Provides deeper details as needed, depending on time available.
  • Actively investigate issues and opportunities, providing insights to into system and user behaviors, contributing to the development of cutting-edge, personalized user experiences and improved monetization opportunities.
  • Ability to communicate shortcomings, gaps, and innovative strategies that help drive alignment and improved experiences and/or monetization opportunities.
  • Identify methods for uncovering competitive insights that can give Sinclair products a digital edge and differentiated offerings.
  • Become immersed in industry and market trends and bring relevant insights to conversations.

Data Analysis:

  • Pursue evidence-based data excellence.
  • Extract data, create reports, and provide sound business recommendations to company leaders related to multiple business lines, with an emphasis on programmatic advertising.
  • Use data insights to help improve user journeys, customer acquisition, email marketing, consumer engagement, and monetization efforts.   
    Build data reports and audience segments as required for the company- 's diverse multiplatform portfolio in News, Entertainment and Sports.
  • Collect and analyze data using multiple platforms and tools, including Google Ad Manager, Salesforce, Cognos, Databricks, Looker Studio and Tableau.   
    Analyze and interpret data to determine patterns, optimizations, correlations, revenue opportunities, track campaign performance, programmatic advertising performance and more for Sinclair- 's Digital operations across local TV news stations, streaming products, The Tennis Channel, The National Desk, and other company divisions.
  • Leverage large data sets, while minding the cost, to find usable information and create visualizations for different personas and audiences that lead to activation, execution and revenue opportunities.  
    Promote and maintain organized and effective documentation and organization methods utilizing approved company software and data privacy practices.

  • Actively engaged in growing, learning, developing new skill expertise.
    Share your learned knowledge with team members coworkers and leadership in an informative and supportive way.

Planning:

  • Utilize data to propose product growth initiatives that drive company OKRs.
  • Identifies potential risks in projects and communicates these effectively to relevant stakeholders, ensuring proactive risk management.
    Partner on developing best practices, standards and execution for product growth recommendations.

Communication   and Collaboration:

  • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills, effectively telling the story within the data in an impactful way that resonates with a variety of audiences. Including non-domain experts, making insights accessible and actionable across different levels of the organization.
  • Leads and directs data insight discussions, ensuring conversations are focused on delivering actionable insights and next steps.
  • Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and designers, to ensure research findings are integrated into product development.
    Contributes to hiring efforts, including interviewing and resume reviews, and conducts workshops or demos to elevate the team's understanding of research methodologies, AI practices, and processes.

The base salary compensation range for this role is $88,000 to $117,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
