About the Role:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program.
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish languages, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and healthcare documentation standards.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in Primary Care Medicine.
  • Certification in phlebotomy and EKG administration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a bilingual healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and register patients, ensuring accurate collection of personal and insurance information.
  • Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations by preparing exam rooms and gathering necessary medical instruments.
  • Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and document patient medical histories.
  • Facilitate clear communication between Spanish-speaking patients and medical staff to ensure understanding of medical instructions and procedures.
  • Perform routine clinical tasks including administering injections, drawing blood, and conducting basic laboratory tests as directed.
  • Manage appointment scheduling, patient follow-ups, and maintain organized medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Educate patients on medication usage, treatment plans, and preventive healthcare practices in both English and Spanish.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe clinical environment.
