Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced (or entry level) Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction estimating, project management, and cost control. This role involves analyzing project plans, preparing accurate estimates, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure successful project execution. The Construction Estimator will play a crucial role in helping our company maintain competitive pricing while ensuring high-quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Utilize estimating software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid to generate accurate pricing for materials, labor, and overhead.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for estimates.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather data relevant to the estimation process.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers for accurate pricing and contract negotiations.
- Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Prepare bid proposals and present findings to management for review.
- Assist in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
Skills
- Knoledge in construction estimating software including Bluebeam, HeavyBid, onscreen or other takeoff software.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Knowledge of construction processes, materials, and techniques.
- Experience in cost control measures and pricing strategies within the construction industry.
- Familiarity with contracts related to construction projects.
- Previous experience in construction site environments is preferred.
- Solid understanding of construction management principles and practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
