Debt Management Specialist

Overview
The Debt Management Specialist will develop and manage a comprehensive debt‑management program for Ponce Health Sciences University (PHSU). The specialist will counsel students on federal and private loan obligations, assist with budgeting and financial literacy, and ensure compliance with federal entrance and exit counseling requirements. This role also oversees scholarship administration and will be based in Ponce, Puerto Rico. A hybrid work schedule may be available, and the specialist must be willing and able to travel to all PHSU locations, including international campuses, for counseling sessions, workshops, and program coordination.
Bachelor's degree in finance, education, counseling, or a related field.
Bilingual – English/Spanish (oral and written)
Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills.
Valid, unexpired passport and ability to travel internationally without restrictions
Years of Experience: At least three years of experience in financial aid, credit counseling, or a related role; experience with student‑loan entrance/exit counseling, cohort default rate management, or scholarship administration is strongly desirable.
Key Skills or Certifications: Title IV regulations, loan processing (federal/private), cohort default rate management, scholarship administration, budgeting, financial literacy counseling, public speaking, and graphic design.

Pay: $28,000.00 per year
