We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will be organized, trustworthy, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records in FreshBooks and other accounting systems.
  • Record and reconcile all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll entries, and expense reports.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly.
  • Prepare and issue invoices; monitor collections and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Process vendor payments and employee reimbursements.
  • Support management with cash flow tracking and budgeting.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Coordinate with CPA or external accountant for tax preparation and year-end closing.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant financial regulations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience (3+ years preferred) as a bookkeeper, accountant, or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in FreshBooks (required); experience with QuickBooks Online or comparable software is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and journal entries.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

Compensation & Hours

  • Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience.
