Summary
Reporting directly to the Epic Training and Informatics Manager, the Epic Principal Trainer will be responsible for overseeing enterprise credentialing and end user training and education efforts related to their Epic certification areas. The Principal Trainer will be responsible for collaborating with other training and education staff to build and maintain the master training environment in Epic and manage curriculum design and delivery efforts for their certification areas. The Principal Trainer will also work closely with Epic Application Managers and Analysts to understand the unique system design and build for Planned Parenthood to create customized, relevant curriculum and resources for credentialed trainers and end users.
EssentialFunctions
- Meeting with Application Managers and Analysts to validate and design key workflows, application requirements, strategies, and best practices to inform training material design that aligns with Planned Parenthood's unique Epic build and configuration.
- Building and maintaining the master training environment.
- Managing and leading the Professional Billing and Claims credentialing program.
- Monitoring end user assessment scores and communicating to credentialed trainers.
- Developing and maintaining Planned Parenthood's Epic training curriculum and materials repository.
- Developing post go-live educational materials and resources for credentialed trainers, super users, and end users that support optimization efforts.
Reviewing and understanding new features and functionality deployed by Planned Parenthood in order to create updated training strategies.
Providing support, including occasional training coverage, for Epic Affiliate Support Credentialed Trainers.
- Responding to customer questions and issues submitted through the ticketing system.
- Hosting affiliate success meetings with assigned live affiliates to hear concerns, escalations, review open tickets, and answer questions.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibility.

- Current Epic certification or Planned Parenthood credentialed status in applicable Epic application(s)
Skills
Required
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, training and education, or related field. Prior experience may also be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Prior operational experience in an Epic Professional Billing & Claims role or specialty.
- Possesses prior enterprise training and education experience.
- Outstanding verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrates established training management and curriculum design experience.
- Experience managing multiple teams of resources in a software implementation effort.
- Possesses excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Conveys information clearly and concisely with project leadership and subject matter experts.
- Conveys the ability to gain trust and establish effective relationships with Epic counterparts.
- Seeks, logically examines, and interprets information from various sources to determine a problem's cause and develops a course of action to resolve the problem and to prevent its recurrence.
- Has a demonstrated understanding of the role that racial inequity plays in our society and its impact on healthcare systems and institutions.
Preferred
- Possesses prior Epic experience, especially with Planned Parenthood.
- Possesses prior experience designing and maintaining master training environments.
- Possesses prior experience with the end-to-end establishment of Epic training programs and curricula.
