Mental Health Intern
As a Mental Health Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals on their journey to mental wellness. This position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the mental health field while working alongside seasoned professionals. You'll engage with clients, assist in therapeutic activities, and contribute to a supportive environment that fosters growth and healing.
What you'll do
- Assist in the implementation of therapeutic interventions, including art therapy techniques to promote emotional expression and healing.
- Support clients in individual and group counseling sessions, focusing on gender issues counseling to address diverse needs.
- Collaborate with licensed professionals to observe and document client progress, ensuring accurate records of psychopharmacology treatment plans.
- Participate in team meetings and case discussions to enhance treatment strategies and client care.
- Conduct research on best practices in mental health support and contribute innovative ideas for program development.
- Engage with clients through recreational activities that encourage social interaction and personal development.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards while providing compassionate support.
Basic qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with clients.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience or coursework related to art therapy techniques.
- Familiarity with psychopharmacology principles and practices.
- Understanding of gender issues in mental health counseling.
