Where we work
Udemy is a global company headquartered in San Francisco, with additional U.S. offices in Denver and Austin, and international hubs in Australia, India, Ireland, Mexico, and Türkiye. This is an in-office position, requiring three days a week in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and flexibility on Mondays and Fridays.

About your skills

  • You excel at managing complex, cross-functional initiatives with a balance of strategic insight and executional detail.

  • You bring strong program management fundamentals and a product mindset, thriving at driving clarity, alignment, and execution across cross-functional teams.

  • You thrive in ambiguity, bringing structure, clarity, and proactive problem-solving to fast-paced environments.

  • You communicate with impact—adapting your style to technical and non-technical audiences alike.

About this role
As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you'll lead high-impact initiatives that shape how we plan, execute, and scale product delivery. This role partners closely with Product, Engineering, and Design to shape product strategy, translate it into executable roadmaps, and drive measurable user and business outcomes. You'll connect the dots across Product, Engineering, and Design - shaping clarity around what we build, why we build it, and how it delivers measurable value to learners..

What you'll be doing

  • Own and lead complex, cross-functional programs from inception through delivery — aligning roadmap priorities, clarifying trade-offs, and ensuring delivery connects back to product and user outcomes.

  • Partner closely with other TPMs, and senior leaders across Product, Engineering, and Design to translate strategy into executable roadmaps, ensuring prioritization and capacity alignment.

  • Facilitate technical discovery and scoping processes, helping teams clarify goals, assess feasibility, and make informed trade-offs early.

  • Identify and manage interdependencies across multiple workstreams, proactively removing blockers and enabling seamless execution.

  • Help evolve frameworks, tools, and rituals that improve how we plan, prioritize, and measure product outcomes — scaling both delivery efficiency and impact.

  • Champion operational excellence by refining workflows, automating reporting, and supporting metrics-driven decision-making.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively at all levels of the organization—adapting communication style for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Collaborate with other TPMs to align on shared practices, scale cross-functional processes, and lead portfolio-level initiatives.

  • Connect the dots across Product, Engineering, and Design — shaping clarity around what we build, why we build it, and how it delivers measurable value to learners.

What you'll have

  • 6+ years of experience (or equivalent) as a Technical Program Manager or similar role in a high-growth, product-driven environment.

  • A proven track record of managing and delivering complex, multi-team initiatives with high strategic value.

  • Deep experience working with engineering and product teams, and comfort interfacing with creative or design organizations.

  • Strong fluency with technical concepts and systems thinking - you can understand technical architecture and ask the right questions to align on approach.

  • Expertise with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence), with the ability to configure workflows and dashboards for clarity and insight.

  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills - you bring structure and clarity in ambiguous situations and build trust across teams.

  • A bias for action and a proactive mindset - you're energized by solving problems and creating leverage for others.

  • Ability to operate at multiple altitudes - from strategic planning to executional details.

  • Comfort working across a broad portfolio of initiatives, even outside your domain expertise.
