Information System Administrator II
Purpose
The Information Systems Administrator is responsible for a wide range of tasks that keep the company's IT network, servers, and security systems in good health. This includes investigating and diagnosing network problems, collecting IT usage stats, making recommendations for improving the company's IT systems, and carrying out routine configuration and installation of IT solutions. The Information Security Administrator also safeguards corporate information both internally and externally through system permissions and restricted access. The Information System Administrator supports employees with more basic computer needs, like setting up new users and managing back-up, security, and passwords.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Technical Support: Performs hardware, software, and applications support on a daily and as needed
Technical Support: Maintains company IT applications and assets
Technical Support: Ensures that daily backup operations, including file systems, servers, and other backups as required, are completed
Technical Support: Installs or builds servers, infrastructure, or other devices as required
Technical Support: Configures, supports, and/or assists with IT assets as required by management and/or company needs.
Technical Support: Performs daily system monitoring, including log review, system functionality and health, backup completions, and monitoring and/or verification of other key systems as required.
Technical Support: Determines required system tuning and assists in performing the tuning.
Technology Evaluation: Assist in the evaluation and onboarding of new technologies and tools.
Technology Evaluation: Maintain high levels of knowledge about industry solutions and technologies.
Technology Evaluation: Assists in deploying new tools, including ensuring that hardware/software requirements are met, and creating deployment strategies.
Technology Evaluation: Ensures IT department plans are aligned with IT budget and company strategic plan.
Technology Evaluation: Conducts post-system implementation reviews to ensure benefits are meeting expectations and achieved within budget.
Security: Safeguards confidentiality and reliability of corporate data, proprietary information, and intellectual property, including the setting of local computer and domain level permissions.
Security: Assists in the determination of application specific permissions as required.
Security: Ensures systems connected to company infrastructure meets security requirements.
Security: Ensures that management is up-to-date and well-educated on strategic technology issues
Troubleshooting Assistance: Support in troubleshooting IT technical issues.
User Assistance: Respond to user inquiries and provide assistance with IT-related issues.
Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining an organized inventory of IT equipment and supplies.
Documentation: Maintain basic documentation of IT processes and procedures.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other IT team members.
Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in IT or related field with 2-4+ years experience is required -OR-
Master's Degree or equivalent in IT or related field with 1+ years experience is required -OR- Ph.D. or equivalent in IT or related field with 0+ years experience is required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Advanced understanding of IT systems, hardware, and software.
Familiarity with software and hardware troubleshooting techniques across many systems.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team.
Ability to work on many concurrent projects at one time.
Ability to communicate effectively with other members of the IT team and members of other teams thoughout the company, including management.
Work Environment:
This position is regularly performed in an in-person office environment, which means the physical surroundings are generally pleasant and comfortable with minimal exposure to injury or other hazards, with a moderate level of noise. Prolonged periods of sitting and looking at a computer screen with freedom of movement on a regular basis is expected. Minimal physical effort is required but could include: repetitive motion of wrists and fingers; talking and hearing; and handling of light materials and supplies. This position will require less than 15% of travel.
