Position Summary

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate records on accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. This position will support the daily finance and accounting operations, reporting to the Director of Finance.

A successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn and grow, and an ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Accounting and Jackpot Processing

  • Process jackpot winner paperwork; collect, review, and enter related check data.

  • Electronically file W2G Copy A forms in compliance with IRS requirements.

  • Prepare and send bingo invoices and credit memos; record all credits accurately.

  • Record and deposit checks; maintain records of all payments received.

  • Send invoice reminders and follow up on outstanding balances.

  • Maintain and update compliance lists with Regulatory board

  • Provide responsive customer service for finance-related inquiries.

Accounting & Financial Management

  • Reconcile credit card statements and enter receipts into accounting system.

  • Record intercompany journal entries and adjustments.

  • Set up and maintain vendor accounts; ensure current W9 forms are on file.

  • Enter and process bills for timely payment.

  • Prepare and distribute monthly game performance reports.

  • Utilize QuickBooks for data entry and other accounting tasks. Utilize Expensify for expense report handling.

  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, taxes, and auditing tasks.

  • File sales tax returns timely and accurately.

Administrative & HR-Related Accounting

  • Coordinate health insurance renewals and employee open enrollment processes.

  • Manage payroll setup, processing, and employee data updates.

  • Assist with onboarding and employee exit documentation.

  • Prepare and file annual 1099 forms.

  • Support insurance renewals and workers' compensation audits.

  • Assist in general human resources activities.

General Accounting Support

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable transactions.

  • Ensure accuracy across all ledgers and financial reports.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and internal company financial policies.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in an accounting role.

  • Technical Skills:

o Proficiency with QuickBooks and Expensify.

o QuickBooks Experience or Certifications recommended or ability to obtain certification within 6 months.

o Strong Excel and general computer skills preferred.

o Understanding of general accounting principles and best practices.

  • Soft Skills:

o High attention to detail and accuracy.

o Excellent organizational and time management skills.

o Strong communication and customer service abilities.

o Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
