Shades of Pink Foundation (SOPF) is looking for a dedicated volunteer with a background in finance and/or accounting to serve as Board Treasurer. If you're detail-oriented, collaborative and reside in Southeast Michigan, we'd love to hear from you
SOPF's mission is to reduce financial stress for those undergoing breast cancer treatment in Southeast Michigan by providing prompt funding for daily living expenses.
Please note that this is an unpaid volunteer position. SOPF Board members and volunteers are not compensated for their service.
As an officer of the Board, key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing and maintaining SOPF's operating budget, taking into account both programmatic and internal needs
- Providing financial statements and reports to the Board of Directors
- Participating in monthly Board meetings and several events throughout the year
- Supporting fundraising initiatives through financial oversight
- Helping the organization forecast their financial future and plan for variable financial circumstances
- Working with SOPF's CPA to conduct the annual audit and prepare the IRS (Form 990) filing
Hybrid-remote position. The Board meets every month generally in the Birmingham/Troy area or by Zoom conference. Board members must reside locally (Southeast Michigan) to attend in-person meetings and events. Time commitment varies throughout the year, as more time is needed in advance of our major fundraising events. We promise to respect your time commitment.
This unpaid role requires about 10 hours per week and collaboration with our Executive Director and Board.
