We are searching for a Contracts Specialist -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide skilled professional duties relating to the initiation, review, and completion of contractual arrangements entered into by and on behalf of TCH entities in a manner that enables TCH to conduct its business effectively and in accordance with established laws, regulations, policies and procedures and good business practices. Duties include navigating assigned contract requests through TCH's process, including contract review and negotiation, coordinating with other TCH departments for review and input, partnering with stakeholder in other departments, including but not limited to Supply Chain and Risk, communicating with operational business partners, and managing the contract review, approval, and execution processes for business arrangements.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reviews, negotiates, drafts, and facilitates collaboration on assigned contracts and amendments within timeframes established by department management. Contacts internal end users to determine strategy and expected timeline for contract completion, as well as independently handles negotiations with third party vendors. Within timeframes established by department management, identifies reviewing parties and works with other stakeholders. 
  • Prepares complex contractual agreements by utilizing contract templates, drafting custom contracts, or obtaining and redlining third party templates. Such contractual agreements include, but are not limited to, Services Agreements, Purchase and Pricing Agreements, Equipment and/or Software Maintenance Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, and Event Agreements.
  • Answers internal questions regarding the contracts process in a professional, courteous, and timely manner. Maintains positive working relationships with internal and external business partners. Responds to internal operational business partner inquiries in a professional and courteous manner within one business day of receipt of inquiry. Assists in promptly securing answers and resolutions to their contract-related inquiries.
  • Demonstrates and maintains strong professional knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and related area(s) of specialty. Ensures that contract terms and conditions conform to policies and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Edits and maintains contract files. Effectively utilizes document management, contract lifecycle management systems, and versioning tools to enable effective collaboration between parties involved in contract review. Collaborates with other Contract Specialists to improve effectiveness of the Contract Administration function.

Skills & Requirements

  • Required bachelor's degree business or related. Preferred Juris Doctor Degree (JD)
  • 5 years' Experience in contracting, preferably in a healthcare environment
