This role blends strategic financial management with hands-on accounting, leads both the office and accounting teams, ensures accurate records, cash flow, compliance, and strong internal controls, and works closely with department managers. As the financial backbone of the dealership, you will provide timely insights to support leadership decisions.Key ResponsibilitiesReview daily bank accounts, including vehicle payoffs, cash, credit card payments, and payroll items, ensuring accuracy and timely postingGenerate and review the Daily Operating Control (DOC) to provide a snapshot of prior day sales, gross profit, cash positions, and operational metricsMonitor cash flow and optimize working capital to ensure smooth financing of inventory and operational needsOversee month-end close and prepare complete financial statements, schedules, and composites for accuracy and compliance with accounting standardsMonitor and maintain strong internal controls across sales, service, parts, and F&I; troubleshoot discrepancies and implement corrective actionsLead, supervise, and develop office and accounting staff, including hiring, training, performance feedback, and workload prioritizationManage accounts payable, accounts receivable, deal posting, titling paperwork, DMV remittances, and other administrative processes while maintaining proper documentationAudit new and used vehicle inventory and ensure compliance with factory requirements, state regulations, and dealer policies, coordinate with department managers on warranty submissions and parts inventoryIdentify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve accuracy and efficiency, and enhance customer satisfactionSupport dealership leadership with special projects, ad-hoc reporting, and initiatives to strengthen financial and operational performanceSkillsAutomotive dealership operations, finance, and office managementCash management and internal controlsGAAP and standard accounting principles, including preparation of financial statements and analysis financial reportsFinancial recordkeeping with exceptional attention to detail and accuracyProblem-solving and analytical thinking to resolve discrepancies and improve processesExcellent written and verbal communication for collaborating with department managers and leadershipStrong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload during high-volume periods and month-end closeQualifications3–5 years of accounting and office management experience in a franchised automotive dealershipDemonstrated success leading and developing office or accounting teamsSolid understanding of GAAP with proficiency in Dealership Management Systems (DMS) such as CDK Global or Reynolds & Reynolds; Excel, and document managementExperience managing cash flow, dealership floor plans, and financial reportingExcellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to meet tight deadlinesHigh level of integrity, professionalism, and customer-focused service aligned with Stocker Auto's valuesCompensation & Benefits$60,000–$80,000 depending on experienceMedical, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement planPaid time off (PTO)Paid holidaysBonuses Why This Role MattersThe Office/Accounting Manager is the operational backbone of the dealership.
