The Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Interventions for Managing Parenting and Cancer Team (IMPACT). IMPACT is a cancer parenting program that helps emotionally support parents with cancer across their journey—from the earliest point in at-risk/genetic identification through treatment and afterward. IMPACT has research, educational, and community service components: the Program Manager coordinates all such activities under the supervision of the Director. This includes networking with scientists, physicians and healthcare providers, and members of the community, as well as assisting with activities that advance and support the overall mission of IMPACT. The position requires deep knowledge of cancer control and prevention data and data sources. Travel to conferences and continuing professional education activities are expected. The position will work closely with IMPACT's Director and community liaisons to network within and across Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center's oncology services, clinical bioinformatics teams, and catchment area to establish referral patterns for parents at-risk for, diagnosed with, and surviving with cancer, as well as those who are in advanced disease stages. It is necessary for the individual in this position to have an appreciation for the cancer control continuum, the role of prevention in health, and the field of quality of life research and cancer community outreach and engagement. The position requires experience and/or training in public health and biostatistics, project management, patient navigation, and behavioral medicine research and evaluation, and community organizations focused on cancer.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Overseeing day-to-day operations of the program, including staff and students.

Meritoriously reviewed by the NIH/NCI, CPC is 1 of 3 standing research programs that comprise the cancer center. Its mission is to conduct epidemiologic, behavioral, and public health-focused research on novel and innovative ways to prevent and control the spread of cancer in the US population.
