Sun Harbor in Port Charlotte, Florida is seeking a skilled and dedicated Food Services Director (Certified Dietary Manager) to lead our Food Services Department. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a passion for delivering nutritious, high-quality meals while maintaining compliance and enhancing the dining experience for our residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, and evaluate all aspects of the Food Services Department.
  • Coordinate with Nursing, Environmental, Activity, and Social Services departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain departmental policies, procedures, job descriptions, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations for dietary operations in skilled nursing facilities.
  • Maintain accurate MSDS documentation and ensure staff safety training.
  • Oversee menu planning, special diets, and nutritional documentation in collaboration with clinical teams.
  • Manage budgeting, inventory, purchasing, and cost control measures.
  • Supervise and train food service staff to maintain high standards of performance.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs, surveys, and corrective action planning.
  • Maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and staff to ensure satisfaction and quality service.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification required.
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in food services within a hospital or skilled nursing facility.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a skilled nursing environment (required).
  • Strong knowledge of dietary regulations, cost control, and food management principles.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret financial and dietary data.
