BITCO Corporation, headquartered in Davenport, Iowa, is seeking a Project Team Claims Associate to join our Home Office team. BITCO delivers high-quality property and casualty insurance services to specialized industries, including Construction, Forest Products, and Oil & Gas. This position offers eligibility for a hybrid work schedule.

Position Summary:

As a key player on the Home Office Claims team, this role delivers essential administrative and clerical support that empowers both our home and field Claims staff to perform at their best. Whether coordinating behind the scenes or keeping processes on track, this position helps drive the operational excellence that defines our Claims organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assists customers with claim-related questions
  • Completes entry work into the claims systems – enter payments, enter reserve changes, close claims, etc.
  • Processes claims payments and completes detailed mailing instructions
  • Prepares reports, forms, letters, memos, and other file documentation
  • Processes mail – both incoming and outgoing
  • Utilizes software systems to enter, access and/or retrieve data from various systems
  • Provides assistance to claims department staff as needed
  • Serve as a Claims Workstation team member which includes, but is not limited to: testing and approving Move Requests, approving IT work requests to go to production, maintaining current Claims Workstation users in the system, and coordinating with IT when production issues are identified or encountered.
  • Serve as a Claims Workstation help desk member which includes, but is not limited to: assists users with Claims Workstation problems/questions related to: diary, entry of complicated claims, vehicle title reporting, payment adjustments, reserve changes on PT/Death claims, researches error codes in Claims Workstation, unlocks users when frozen in Claims Workstation and troubleshoots issues
  • Provides training and guidance to newly hired claims associates.
  • Communicate with claims department staff for end of accounting month reminders and holiday/office closing reminders for diary and processing payment instructions.
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a professional office environment
  • Prior insurance experience preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and complete time-sensitive tasks
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to respond timely to customer needs, demonstrating an appropriate sense of urgency
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Flexibility to work as early as 7 am or as late as 6 pm, Monday-Friday

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Office environment; this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, as approved by manager
  • Frequently sit at a desk or other workstation for extended periods of time
  • Occasionally lift and carry equipment and/or materials weighing up to 15 pounds
  • Routinely bend, kneel, reach, see, be mobile, and walk around
  • Must be able to attend and perform job duties effectively both in-person and virtually, as required by manager
  • Travel – none to minimal
