This position will be ~20 hours per week as needed. A minimum of 4 days per week for ± 5 hours per day.

Part-Time Labor

Kalamazoo Storage Center is currently looking to hire an individual to perform a variety of tasks to help with the appearance and maintenance of the facilities. The ideal candidate will be one who pays close attention to details and can handle assigned tasks quickly. One who is friendly, has good communication skills, and can think on their feet and has moderate computer skills. We are looking for someone with integrity and a positive attitude. Ultimately you will be working directly with a manager to help ensure that everything on the grounds is clean and in working order. A flexible schedule and eagerness to work are a must.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Go to the facility and complete tasks a minimum of 4 days every week
  • Able to inspect the buildings and grounds and ensure all areas are clean and well-maintained
  • Respond to repair and maintenance requests in a timely fashion
  • Check overhead doors and service when needed
  • Clean spaces once vacated
  • Complete task lists sent to you each week by your assigned manager
  • Ability to lift ~40 pounds
  • Read and follow manuals and other written instructions
  • Maintain receipts for company purchases
  • Use equipment, including power tools and hand tools safely
  • Collaborate with contractors or vendors as needed
  • Inspect gutters from the ground for issues
  • Inspect lights, and make sure all are in working order
  • Assist with larger repairs

Requirements

  • Have a smart phone and the ability to use apps for work
  • Ability to work at a computer if necessary
  • Have and/or can use tools and do some light carpentry work
  • Have good communication skills to be able to occasionally communicate with tenants or vendors
  • Reliable transportation to and from the work site on a weekly basis
  • Manage information flow in a timely and accurate manner
  • Detail-oriented
  • Demonstrates ability to take initiative, anticipate needs and exercise independent/sound judgement
  • Task-driven

Job Type: Part-time
