The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up manufacturing equipment and machinery according to production schedules and specifications.
  • Adjust, calibrate, and fine-tune machine settings to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
  • Perform test runs and initial quality checks post-setup to verify machine readiness and product adherence to standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to machine setup, tooling, and programming.
  • Collaborate with production operators and engineers to optimize setup times and improve process efficiency.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance on machinery and tooling during setup changeovers.
  • Document setup parameters, machine adjustments, and any issues encountered for future reference and continuous improvement.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proven experience in machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) and various hand/power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills for diagnosing equipment issues.
  • Understanding of quality control principles and adherence to safety protocols.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with Lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen)
  • Ability to interpret electrical or hydraulic schematics for advanced troubleshooting
  • Prior experience training or mentoring junior technicians
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
