The Client's Financial Investment Services Tax Group is an oversight team that manages the delivery of a range of tax services, performed by a 3rd Party Vendor, to mutual fund clients based in Canada.

Job Summary

The oversight team is the main tax point of contact for Clients, for 3rd party vendor, and for Client Auditors. The tax services include, but are not limited to, monthly distributions, special distributions, semi -annual distributions, annual distributions, true up calculations, mock distributions, tax compliance, investor slip reporting and various periodic deliverables.

Job Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, track, and resolve tax issues

  • Oversee 3rd Party Vendor's production of deliverables

  • Monitor and review for adherence to fund policies

  • Research and respond to inquiries from Clients, 3rd Party Vendor, and Client Auditors

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong client service skills

  • Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast paced environment

  • Experience working across multiple business areas and/or functions to deliver results

  • Strong technical skills including accounting principles and theories

  • Analytical skills, problem solving, good critical thinking and decision-making skills

  • Expert use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of Canadian Tax Law (Canadian Trusts)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 5-8 years of experience in Operations or Audit Firm
