Consisting of Corporate Services and Real Estate (CSRE) and the Office of Global Security (OGS), our teams drive productivity and enable the firm's flow of business while ensuring its safety and security. How We're Organized
Corporate and Workplace Solutions includes the following pillars: Workplace Experience, the Office of Global Security, Regional Office Leadership and Chief Operating Officer, which includes CWS Engineering.
- Workplace Experience: Encompasses end-to-end strategic real estate work from transactions to facilities. Departments include On-Site Solutions (inclusive of Facilities Management, Hospitality Operations, Document Management and Ground Transportation), Events, Client & Corporate Production, Real Estate Strategy, Real Estate Development, and Capital Management.
- The Office of Global Security: Manages and implements arrangements for the protection of the firm's personnel, physical security, fire safety and crisis management.
Regional Office Leadership: Supports the firm in driving regional priorities and strategy in Dallas and Salt Lake City in partnership with local leadership.
- Chief Operating Officer (COO): Aligns division-wide functions to drive strategic cohesiveness, consistency and efficiency. Departments include CWS Management, Risk and Health & Safety, and CWS Engineering - which provides enabling engineering solutions supporting real estate and facilities management, on-site solutions, safety and security and CWS data and analytics.
OUR IMPACT
Joining the Event Management team, you will partner with key business stakeholders and team members to develop and execute an event marketing strategy, which includes management of events and conferences with a keen focus on best practices, commercial excellence and consistency in delivery, along with effective risk management. Goldman Sachs events are critical to maintaining the image of the firm and assisting in the development of key client relationships.
HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
Reporting to a Vice President in Event Management, this role supports event strategy, providing advisory support and planning and executing events and conferences.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Plan select events across the firm – from budgeting to venue/vendor selection to contracting to logistics management to execution
- Partner with global team to manage annual business strategy, event commercial management, service excellence, best practices and innovation opportunities for a portfolio of events
- Build and maintain accurate and thorough event budgets, manage weekly approvals with global team, and manage regular financial reporting
- Take ownership and be accountable for overall success of the event
- Manage relationship with key internal stakeholders, including senior executives
- Proactively follow-up on post event evaluation
- Protect the firm's and business' reputation, and adherence to the firm's processes and regular review of regulatory requirements
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an event specialist in a fast-paced environment, preferably with financial services experience
- Exposure to event management function, including but not limited to budgeting, venue sourcing, audio visual, stage production, registration, speaker management, and/or virtual event platforms
- Strong communication and stakeholder/relationship management skills
- Results-oriented, attention to detail and strong time management skills - ability to balance multiple, time-sensitive projects
- Creative strategist and problem solver who delivers dynamic solutions. Be able to communicate with impact and to drive desired outcomes with a can-do attitude
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining high quality standards
- Creativity, adaptability and a commitment to innovation
- Strong sense of commerciality with sound negotiation skills
- Personal integrity, passion, initiative, leadership qualities and the ability to work as part of a team in an environment that demands excellence, time and energy
