Summit Health, Safety, and Industrial Hygiene Services ) is seeking a part time or full time Industrial Hygiene and Safety Specialist that must physical be located in one of the following areas: Denver, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Dallas Fort Worth, or Seattle.

The position pays $40.00 per hour for support. This individual needs to be physically located within 90 minutes of a major airport in Denver, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Dallas Fort Worth, or Seattle.

We need this individual to fly roughly 3-4 times per month to Client sites to perform primarily industrial hygiene or occasionally safety related consulting work.

Our team can facilitate a very flexible schedule and are open to work with candidates who may have ongoing responsibilities elsewhere with other employers or Clients, as long as no conflicts are identified. Communications can be arranged to not impact other responsibilities.

Work will be based on contract awards and will not follow a standard work schedule. The position will be overseen directly by a senior Industrial Hygienist or Project Manager and will be responsible for:

  • Performing exposure assessments
  • Creating technical reports for safety audits and exposure assessments
  • Prepare chain-of-custody documents for laboratory samples
  • Be able to use industrial hygiene equipment including calibration and use the instruments in the field and collect data from the instruments
  • Create proposals
  • Visiting Client sites in multiple States
  • Coordinate with the senior Industrial Hygienist or Project Managers to perform onsite tasks
  • Attend meetings with Clients (onsite and remotely)
  • Perform facility inspections and audits
  • Perform respiratory mask fit testing
  • Other tasks as needed

Some of the work will be completed fully remotely, however, site visits will be required.

Standard onsite projects at Client sites will be one day in length along with a need for several times per year - projects requiring about a week or so at a Client site.

This individual must have experience in industrial hygiene including use of monitoring equipment across a range of hazards including chemicals and noise. We will train the right individual in the use of IH equipment and report writing as needed. Two years of Industrial Hygiene and workplace Safety experience is required. A writing sample will be requested prior to hiring.

A Bachelor's degree is required in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, or Environmental Science.
