A organization is seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to provide on-site IT support at its headquarters location. Working under general supervision, this role supports desktop operations, endpoint deployments, and user technical assistance while ensuring compliance with established IT and asset management standards.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Responsibilities
- Build and deploy desktops, laptops, and tablets using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)
- Verify successful endpoint builds by ensuring:
- BitLocker encryption keys are stored in Active Directory and Intune
- MECM Client is installed and operational
- Devices remain connected to the network for at least 2.5 hours post-build
- Ensure all required software listed on build sheets is installed
- Provide technical support for endpoint hardware and software issues
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve user-reported issues; document work in the Help Desk ticketing system
- Perform routine maintenance and coordinate vendor repairs as needed
- Track and document all assigned IT assets (desktops, laptops, tablets, monitors, printers, scanners, docking stations) in the designated IT Asset Management System
- Assist with the removal, disposal, and salvage of obsolete equipment per established procedures
- Support endpoint deployments for new and existing end users
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Ensure all backup tablets are connected to the network via patch cable to receive monthly security updates
- Power on tablets and connect them starting the second Friday of each month through 12:00 PM the following Wednesday
- Log in using the local account prior to shutdown on Wednesday
- Ensure iPads are powered and connected for the same update window (login not required)
- 4+ years of experience supporting desktop and networked systems
- 4+ years of experience with computer deployment, operation, and repair
- 4+ years of experience with hardware and software installation
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)
- Strong knowledge of desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, and scanners
- Experience working with a Help Desk ticketing system
- Familiarity with NTS Network
- Experience with Active Directory and/or Microsoft Intune
- High School Diploma (required)
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Relevant education may substitute for required work experience
