Description IgniteAction, a joint venture between ActioNet and Ignite has an immediate opening for a an experienced Google Cloud Engineer (SME). Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure solutions—primarily on Google Cloud—by integrating cloud services with on-prem systems, automating deployments using DevSecOps tools, ensuring regulatory compliance (., FedRAMP, FISMA), optimizing data pipelines, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure, and well-documented cloud solutions.Responsibilities include but not limited to:Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure solutions on Google Cloud.Evaluate and select appropriate cloud services based on project requirements.Develop integration strategies and data flow architectures for cloud-based systems.Integrate Google Cloud services (., Google Earth Engine, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions) with on-premises systems or other cloud platforms (EDL).Develop and maintain APIs for system and application integrations.Use tools like Google Cloud API Gateway, Cloud Endpoints, and Service Accounts for secure integrations.Implement automation using tools like Terraform, Gitlab CI/CD, or Google Cloud SDK.Configure and deploy virtual machines, networking, and storage resources within Google Cloud.Set up containerized environments with Kubernetes and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).Migrate data from on-premises databases or other cloud providers to Google Cloud platforms; Implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes; Optimize data pipelines for performance and cost-efficiency.Implement cloud security best practices such as identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network security.Perform security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.Manage security policies and access controls using Google Cloud Security tools.Monitor cloud resources and applications using Google Cloud Operations suite (formerly Stackdriver) for performance and availability.Troubleshoot issues related to integration, network, and cloud services.Provide ongoing support for cloud infrastructure and resolve incidents in production environments.Collaborate with development teams, business stakeholders, and clients to understand requirements and deliver solutions.Document integration processes, architecture designs, and best practices for internal use and client delivery.Required Skills:Cloud Platform Expertise - Proficiency in GCP and AWS. Good understanding of the different cloud Service Models (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS)Automation tools: Knowledge of tools to automate the provisioning, scaling, and management of cloud environments (Dev/QA, ITE, Stage and Production). Additionally, good understanding of the infrastructure deployments and management (IaC)Familiarity with regulatory standards and how to ensure the cloud environment adheres to them . FedRAMP, FISMA etc.Familiarity with container orchestration and deployment (Docker, Kubernetes), cloud database services and storage solutionsExperience with building, testing, and deploying applications in a cloud environment using DevSecOps and CI/CDSkills in automating workflows and integrating with cloud platforms.Understanding how to interact with cloud services programmatically using APIs and SDKs.Experience in setting up and configuring monitoring for performance, security, and availability using tools such as Datadog, and other monitoring platforms. This includes tracking system metrics, identifying potential security vulnerabilities, ensuring optimal system performance, and setting up alerts and dashboards for proactive management.Ability to collaborate with DITD technical SMEs, security teams, and OCIO to integrate cloud services, including system-of-systems architectures and data integration, ensuring seamless communication, security compliance, and optimal functionality across all platforms.Preferred QualificationsCloud certifications (., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Azure Administrator, Google Professional Cloud Engineer)Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)Familiarity with federal IT security standards (FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST)ActioNet is a CMMI-DEV Level 4, CMMI-SVC Level 4, ISO 20000, ISO 27001, ISO 9001, HDI-certified, woman-owned IT Solutions Provider with strong qualifications and expertise in Agile Software Engineering, Cloud Solutions, Cyber Security and IT Managed Services.
