Automotive Technician

We are a thriving family owned automotive shop committed to providing exceptional auto repair and maintenance services to our valued customers. We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated L1 Technician to join our team. As an L1 Technician, you will be responsible for performing various diagnostic and repair tasks on vehicles, ensuring their optimal performance and safety. Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough diagnostic assessments to identify and troubleshoot vehicle issues using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Perform repairs and replacements on automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, electrical components, and other mechanical systems.
- Utilize technical manuals, diagnostic software, and online resources to ensure accurate and efficient repairs.
- Follow industry-standard procedures and safety guidelines while conducting repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with other team members to share knowledge, provide assistance, and ensure timely completion of repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools, equipment, and service bays, to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Communicate effectively with the Service Advisor and customers to explain repair options, provide cost estimates, and address any concerns or questions.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technology, trends, and repair techniques through ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- Document all repairs, parts used, services performed, and other relevant information accurately and in a timely manner.
- Uphold the company's values of honesty, integrity, and exceptional customer service at all times.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Certification from a recognized automotive training program or technical school is preferred.
- Proven experience as an L1 Technician, with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools, software, and equipment to accurately identify and resolve complex vehicle issues.
- Sound knowledge of automotive systems and components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and computer diagnostics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers and team members.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
