Position Summary:
Covenant Health is seeking a Senior Vice President of Human Resources. This role requires a dynamic leader who excels as a mentor, motivator, and innovator, and who genuinely enjoys working with people. The ideal candidate will possess the drive and passion to effect positive change across the organization. The SVP of HR will serve as a key partner and advisor to the President & CEO-Covenant and senior management of Covenant Health to establish and proactively adapt the human resources function as a strong strategic component of business operations. Plans, organizes and directs all aspects of the human resource management (HRM) function of Covenant Health toward the development of an Integrated Delivery System and development of a culture and positive work environment to attract and retain talented employees. Includes leadership of employment, employee relations, employee and leadership development, benefits, compensation, organizational development, etc. Models, encourages and supports behavior conducive to System-wide success. Insures that operations are conducted in compliance with the Covenant Health Mission, Vision and Values, appropriate laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
- Selects, trains, supervise and evaluate HR management staff to integrate HRM functions (Employment, Benefits, Compensation, Learning & Leadership Development, Covenant Staffing Solutions, Security and Employee Relations) to support Covenant Health goals and objectives.
- Develops philosophy, goals and objectives for high quality, cost effective HRM to productively support the strategic plan of Covenant Health.
- Provides input into the development of compensation and benefits policies, an administration of compensation policies and programs.
- Provide leadership in developing innovative and creative solutions for recruiting and retention of employees.
- Proactively provides HRM consultation to Executive Management in formulation of strategic plans, policies and decision-making, including labor strategy for the System and comprehensive compensation strategy.
- Provides accurate, timely and secure HRIS to support employment, benefits, employee relations, compensation and training decisions.
- Develops operational budgets to provide high quality HRM programs and operate programs within budget. Reviews departmental performance in relation to established goals implementing changes to effect continual improvement in the services provided to customers.
- Maintains knowledge of HRM and healthcare issues to keep abreast of changing environment.
- Assures compliance with all Federal, state and local regulations through proper documentation, management education and effective use of outside expertise.
- Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
- Attends meetings as required and participates on committees as directed. Attends and serves on professional/civic service organizations as hospital representative.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Human Resource Management or Behavioral Science. Prefer a Masters degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management or Behavioral Science.
Minimum Experience:
Fifteen (15) years Human Resources experience including experience as the senior HR executive in large, complex organizations (preferably in healthcare).
