JOB RELATIONSHIPS:

Responsible to: Sales Manager

Supervises: This position will be responsible for managing sales rep agencies in specific territories.

Interrelationships: Works closely with management, sales, engineering, accounts receivable, and production staff.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, or similar field preferred, but not required.

Licensure: Maintain a valid driver’s license

Experience: 5 years in similar position.

Skills/Ability: Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and oral. Have excellent interpersonal skills. Have knowledge of material handling industry, technically savvy. Ability to work effectively with others, solve problems, think creatively, and implement change in a positive manner. Proven sales performance. Have a thorough understanding of the principles of sales and a good knowledge of customer service. Ability to use Excel, Microsoft Word and Power Point. Also Auto Cad experience recommended but not required. Must dress professionally as appropriate when working with customers along with using appropriate language and acting in a professional manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and execute a formal sales plan that identifies key existing customers and targets new customers.

  • Increase sales to existing accounts.
  • Coordinate orders and quotations with inside sales staff.
  • Make professional presentations to customers.
  • Acquire new Chantland-MHS sales representative agencies as needed.
  • Travel with, train, and support territory sales representative agencies.

Increase territory sales annually.

Keep logs of quotations, leads, etc.

Overnight travel is required. Up to 20% over the course of a year.

Aggressively and continually search for new customers while maintaining good relationships with current customers.

Plan and coordinate sales trips including making cost effective travel arrangements and preparing an itinerary using leads, quotations, and current customers.

Evaluate and organize sales territory to determine potential opportunities.

Perform sales and product evaluations on lost orders.

Read and understand blueprints for products that are being sold.

Assist in determining pricing margins.

Assist in identifying new markets.

Provide value-added services to customers.

Assist existing and new customers in adopting company products to their own requirements and specifications.

Effectively demonstrate the benefits and features of the Chantland-MHS Company products in a competitive environment.

EQUIPMENT/SUPPLIES USED:

Telephone, personal computer and printer, calculator and copy machine.
