Location: Carteret, NJ
Salary: $160,000 - $180,000
Job Overview:
As the Purchasing Manager for NPC Global, you will lead procurement activities and manage the purchasing team to ensure the effective acquisition of packaging materials. You will develop procurement strategies, identify cost-saving opportunities, establish key performance indicators (KPIs), and drive process improvements in procurement operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop procurement strategies for sourcing packaging materials in line with company goals.
- Monitor and analyze procurement expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Oversee and resolve escalated vendor issues to maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Prepare reports on purchasing activities and supplier performance.
- Develop and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the purchasing team.
- Identify and implement process improvements in procurement operations.
- Manage and support the purchasing team in the following areas:
- Inventory management, including setting reorder points and forecasting material needs.
- Maintaining accurate purchasing records in compliance with internal protocols.
- Executing day-to-day procurement tasks, such as order placement and tracking.
- Communicating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and issue resolution.
- Adhering to established procurement processes and maintaining compliance with company policies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably in packaging materials.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Excel.
- Effective communication skills and experience in team management.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the packaging industry is a plus.
