Management position responsible for managing all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the North Beach Senior Center, a designated site for Elder Services’ program.. The Center Manager plans, manages, supervises, coordinates, and implements a range of social service, recreational and educational programs designed to meet the needs of the Senior/ Elder community, ensuring the provision of departmental services through excellent customer service and compliance with all funding agencies policies and requirements. This position manages and supervises assigned staff and contractors, functions as an advocate for the program, assists in responding and resolving any program issues and reports to the agency’s President and Board of Directors.
Essential Job duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
▪Develop and oversee all Center operations including the purchasing of needed supplies and adherence to contractual guidelines from the food vendor or caterer and field operation policies.
▪ Provide supervision and guidance for food service staff and SCSEP volunteers assigned to the Center, along with other pertinent functions associated with managing the Senior Center in accordance with the requirements set forth by the Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA), the Alliance for Aging and the City of Miami Beach.
▪ Provide direct supervision of staff to ensure adherence to grant contract requirements and regulations of the DOEA, the Alliance for Aging and the City of Miami Beach.
▪ Facilitate the development of improved methods of service delivery, safety, and business practices for program operations.
▪ Provide leadership and exercises administrative responsibility and maintenance for the strategic enhancement of all management information systems required by the DOEA, the Alliance for Aging and the City of Miami Beach.
▪ Serve as main contact for the program contract with the Alliance for Aging and the City of Miami Beach. Attend all required meetings and trainings and monitoring's scheduled by said entities as well as those that may come as a directive from the DOEA, the City of Miami Beach and the SCSEP program.
▪ Act as a resource for local, state, and federal government agencies regarding senior congregate meals programs and services.
▪ Supervise development of the Center annual budget and maintain fiscal controls.
▪ Conduct Quality Assurance to improve program audits.
▪ Work directly with the City of Miami Beach Parks & Recreation Department to schedule all wellness programs for seniors residents of Miami Beach and nearby areas.
▪ Link senior residents of Miami Beach and nearby areas to public and private services in the community through Project Link.
▪ Represent the Center at the City of Miami Beach Senior Affairs Committee.
▪ Liaise with other outside agencies in the provision of elder services at the Center.
