General Description:

  • Work with the facility Plant Manager and General Manager to ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction through effective inventory management.
  • Provide the appropriate level of support, training, system maintenance and communication to drive the company's inventory management process by coordinating with production, purchasing, warehousing, shipping/receiving, and customer service to limit costs and improve accuracy, customer service, and safety.
  • Examine existing procedures or opportunities for streamlining activities to meet product distribution needs. Support the movement, storage, or processing of inventory.
  • Responsible for improving inventory accuracy within the channel by investigating discrepancies and performing a root cause analysis.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develops and implements material resource plan to enhance product flow, optimize order fulfillment, and minimize inventory investment while consistently meeting customer expectations.
  • Assists in the development of policies, guidelines and procedures to ensure quality, delivery and cost control.
  • Analyzes and assist in setting inventory levels using Supply Chain best practices to meet customer forecast.
  • Investigates inventory discrepancies to determine root cause and implement corrective action.
  • Conducts inventory adjustments, as necessary, to align system with actual inventory position.
  • Maintains and distributes daily performance reports for key inventory and delivery management metrics.
  • Coordinates logistics activities with internal/external customers to meet demand requirements and align delivery expectations and works with Corporate Logistics Leader to improve cost impact of various delivery options of both incoming and outgoing freight for all facilities.
  • Assists in the implementation and maintenance of an electronic or manual kanban system.
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, and manufacturing facilities to align channel supply with customer demand.
  • Minimize excess and obsolete inventory within the regional channel.
  • Formalize and lead the management of the organizations supply base from a quality and delivery perspective
  • Coordinate with Corporate Quality and Procurement to track supplier performance actively
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Strong Supervision Experience
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Excel and other inventory control/shipping software
  • Good understanding of Lean Application tools (Kaizen, Kanban, 5S, Visual Manufacturing, etc
  • Experience in operations, inventory management and lean manufacturing processes.
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment and any necessary certifications
  • Demonstrates excellent problem resolution skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), a plus.
  • Pass the drug screen and background check.
