Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director Corpsmember Development works to ensure the organization's mission is realized by strategically driving the Corps Member Development Department towards delivering exceptional service delivery in the areas of work career pathways, educational attainments and connections to supportive services. Additionally, the Director of Corps Member Development is responsible for leading the department in the design, planning, implementation and evaluation of services offered by the department. The Director of Corpsmember Development will also partner with SFCC counterparts to ensure that all departments work in concert to ensure the long-term growth and sustainability of the organization. The Director of Corps Member Develop will approach their work from a trauma-informed and restorative justice lens that recognizes individuals’ assets and fosters the SFCC Core Values.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Provide continuous oversight to all aspects of the department, ensuring the successful delivery of quality service for Corps Members throughout their life cycle of programming (i.e., pre-programming, program and post-program).
  • Lead their Department’s participation in the cross-functional effort of accurate data collection and reporting.
  • Identify, establish and foster partnerships (internally and externally) to offer holistic approaches to addressing the needs of our Corps Members and enhance our overall program delivery.
  • Provide inspiring supervision and coaching to the Department’s support staff, ensuring they effectively fulfil their job functions. This also includes providing clear and actionable goals for staff, monitoring their progress, and appropriately addressing performance issues, which includes positive recognition, corrective action, and re-direction, when appropriate.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for SFCC’s Academic Education Partner in the planning and executing academic services.
  • Serve as a liaison for SFCC with the San Francisco Unified School District, San Francisco City College, and other post-secondary institutions and training organizations in San Francisco.
  • Leverage data to lead the Department’s effort in tailoring programming and implementing supportive services to our Corpsmember.
  • Ensure that the appropriate systems, processes, protocols, and tools are in place to support the collection, protection, and communication of relevant Corps Members’ information.
  • Monitor the level of corpsmember integration across programs and seek opportunities to enhance integration, capacity, and diversity.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings designed to share information, foster camaraderie, strategize, and plan for the successful implementation of supportive services, career pathways, and educational achievement.
  • Participate regularly with the Executive Director to discuss successes, roadblocks, and action plans associated with key responsibilities and related processes and goals.
  • Actively participate in agency-wide events (i.e., open house, mixers, volunteer, fundraising, etc.) as needed.
  • Support the organization's mission and vision and model its core values.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures of the organization, its sponsors and funders.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Time/Project Management: Demonstrate a high capacity for attention to detail, accuracy of information, and the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.

  • Flexibility: With minimal supervision, you must have an entrepreneurial mindset and navigate changing priorities and competing deadlines.
  • Software: Skills with Microsoft Office required, Google Suite & Excel skills highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of HMIS software is required; familiarity with salesforce-integrated platforms is desirable.

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (from an accredited institution) in a related field or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience is required overall, with a minimum of three (3) years of management experience working in nonprofit programs, business, youth & workforce development.
  • Strong relationship builder and communicator with experience leading diverse work teams, developing an organization-wide strategy for program excellence and engaging community partners.
  • Can point to tangible examples of reporting and program measurement and evaluation; demonstrates integrity, strives for excellence in their work and has experience leading others to new levels of effectiveness and programmatic impact.
  • Previous experience working with and the development of partnerships, consortiums, collaborations, and consensus building.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to sit at a desk 50% of the time and travel to various sites and partners' locations 50% of the time. May be required to lift objects up to 25 lbs. The position will have some weekend and evening responsibilities as needed.
