We are seeking a new team player to fill our SUPPLY PLANNER position available at our La Vergne TN manufacturing facility. This is an ON SITE position.
Position Summary:
The Supply Planner ensures the performance of a supply chain from order to shipment to billing and customer service. This requires the Supply Planner to track inventory and orders, as well as, forecast future supply needs. This position will secure the short-term and long-term capacity planning alignment with the IKEA business team. This position will be responsible for monitoring and improving the OTD, Service Level, and Sender lead time KPIs.
Position Description:
Order Management
- Receive and confirm new orders
- Confirm and reschedule order with planning, inventory and shipping
- Prepare and send invoices
Shipping
- Coordinate with shipping team to ensure shipment status
- Confirm shipment details with IKEA Transport
- Resolve shipment deviations with IKEA
Planning
- Function is to align and monitor PO’s as agreed upon
- Review short- and long-term planning with sourcing and planning team to ensure safety stock level of both raw materials and finished goods at AZ and TN
- Secure existing and new product capacity with production planning team, including short-term (3-months) and long-term (up to 24-months)
Business alignment with IKEA
- Review tactical and operational capacity with IKEA
- Monitor Service Level, OTD, and sender lead time
This is not all inclusive and other duties may be assigned as the role grows and expands.
Position Requirements:
- Detail oriented and focused on accuracy
- 3+ years’ experience in business planning/logistics preferred.
- Knowledge of demand management/forecasting tools, forecasting processes in sales, marketing operations, finance, manufacturing, and supply chain issues
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Extensive spreadsheet analysis and strong mathematical abilities
- Ability to influence in cross-functional teams
- Collaborative skills in resolving long and short positions in inventory
- Working knowledge of ERP system, SAP experience a plus
- Must be able to interpret visual information and communicate effectively by phone, email, and face to face.
- Proficiency in English (spoken, written, and comprehension) is required for this role to ensure effective communication and performance of job-related tasks. Mandarin language skills are a plus.
This is an office position in a temperature-controlled environment. It will entail the regular use of computer and basic office equipment (fax, copier, etc.).
