Job DescriptionJob Description

A Divine Time, LLC is a mental health agency offering outpatient behavioral health services, case management services, and community-based services. We are looking for full-time/part-time Certified Peer Support Specialists in the area of Charlotte,  Gastonia, North Carolina to provide support services to adults with severe and persistent mental illness in the different stages of recovery.

Job Responsibilities:

·       Works with clients providing hope, encouragement, support, and self determination.

·       Provide on-going supportive and/or case management functions in accordance with the problems, needs, and the strategies identified within the service plan in order to help the clients to achieve the stated goals and objectives.

·       Supporting/assisting consumers in daily decision making and resolution of minor problems.

·       Assisting clients by finding resources, advising the consumer of processes, and encouraging follow through with proposed resolutions, locating social activities, or provide other assistance as needed.

·       Engage client in developing healthy relationships through social activities.  

·       Accompanying clients to meetings and participates in meetings of community groups to advocate for consumer needs, leading recovery dialogues/self-help sessions with clients.

·       Assisting the consumer with the identifying and effectively responding to or avoiding identified precursors or triggers that result in functional impairments.

Job Requirements:

Successful candidates of the Peer Support Specialist role are able to work as a member of a healthcare interdisciplinary team with a focus on ensuring successful recovery and overall mental health for clients.

Additional requirements of the Peer Support Specialist include: 

·       High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.

·       1 year of experience working with the mental health & substance abuse populations.

·       North Carolina Peer Support Specialist Certification required or willingness to be certified.

·       Valid drivers’ license and automotive insurance.

·       CPR, First Aid, NCI and/or role related certification required/ or willing to acquire within 60 days of hiring.
