Intuitive Machines is seeking an experienced Avionics Testbed Engineer with expertise in LabVIEW and FPGA to lead the development and operation of testbeds for avionics systems. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining LabVIEW-based embedded control systems (cRIO) for spacecraft and rocket engine testbeds. You will play a key role in managing complex test environments, supporting multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the successful execution of testing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the setup, operation, and maintenance of various avionics testbeds, supporting critical testing for space-bound systems.
  • Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot test scripts in LabVIEW, focusing on automation, data acquisition, and real-time data analysis.
  • Apply test systems’ hardware / software experience to develop a strong knowledge of what the test is accomplishing, and how it relates to the spacecraft vehicle systems.
  • Execute comprehensive test procedures to validate avionics systems and components under simulated operational conditions.
  • Analyze test results and report findings to the engineering and design teams, providing insights to improve performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with avionics engineers and other team members to refine testing processes, ensuring accuracy and consistency in data collection.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of test procedures, results, and any issues encountered, as well as resolutions.
  • Ensure the testing environment complies with all safety protocols and quality standards, maintaining an organized and efficient lab setup.
  • Train and mentor other technicians on testbed procedures, LabVIEW, and system diagnostics, as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in avionics testing or a related field, with specific expertise in LabVIEW.
  • Proficiency in LabVIEW, with the ability to develop and modify complex scripts for automated testing.
  • Strong understanding of avionics systems, testbeds, and relevant instrumentation for space and aerospace applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in testbed systems and software.
