Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated, part-time Cook to join our Tea Salon team. This role is perfect for someone with professional experience as a cook and with a SERV Safe Certificate. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail and thrives in a cozy, customer-focused environment. The cook/chef will be responsible for completing food inventory and ordering groceries, cooking and prepping menu items, and plating our minimal pre-designed menu items, ensuring they are served beautifully and consistently. A culinary degree is not required, but a passion for food and hospitality is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of simple menu items according to tea salon standards.
  • Portion, arrange, and garnish food for an elegant and appetizing presentation.
  • Follow food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring a clean and organized kitchen.
  • Ordering, receiving and storing supplies and ingredients as needed.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure a smooth and enjoyable dining experience for guests.
  • Maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere in the kitchen.
  • Additional responsibilities as directed by the supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a cook or in a food preparation role required
  • SERV Safe certification required
  • Food safety knowledge
  • Passion for food and customer service
  • Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions
  • Strong attention to detail in food presentation and quality
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Availability to work weekends and occasional evenings

Compensation:

  • $20.00-$25.00 hourly
  • Weekend availability required

Physical Demands

  • Continually required to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity

  • Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a computer/laptop
  • Frequently required to lift/push/carry items up to 30 pounds
