We are seeking a talented and dedicated Primary Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to provide high-quality psychiatric care to patients of all ages. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with mental health disorders. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients through evidence-based interventions and personalized treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations to assess patients' mental health status, including reviewing medical history, performing physical exams, and administering diagnostic tests.
  2. Formulate accurate diagnoses based on assessment findings and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans.
  3. Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, including monitoring medication efficacy, side effects, and adherence.
  4. Provide psychotherapy and counseling services to patients, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
  5. Monitor patients' progress over time, adjusting treatment plans as needed to optimize outcomes and promote recovery.
  6. Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and strategies for self-management.
  7. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and case managers, to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
  8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in electronic medical records.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in psychiatric-mental health nursing from an accredited program.
  • Current license to practice as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of [location].
  • Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) preferred.
