Align Foot and Ankle (AFA) is a boutique podiatry practice that is patient focused with community in mind, in a beautifully renovated second floor office overlooking water views. AFA is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to become a part of our team.
Qualifications
- Valid Drivers License Required
- Medical Assistant experience a major plus.
- Must be highly organized.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Proficient in EMR, NextGen or similar EMR
- Experience in insurance verification & authorization requested, but not required.
- Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively interact with patients in stressful situations.
- Strong leadership, organization, marketing & public relations skills
- Ability to assist in marketing; including event hosting, social media development, lunch and learns.
- Ability to answer phones & establish professional relationship with patients.
Responsibilities
- Meet all standards for end to end business operations with focus on front desk operations, medical assistant, faxing records & various other patient related documents.
- Plan, coordinate & confirm patient appointments.
- Supervise patient flow from initiation of new patient to checkout, including time of service collections.
- Maintain patient records, including but not limited to drivers license, insurance information, prior authorizations, demographics, medical records, lab work & imaging, etc..
- Calculate billing amounts at checkout and collect balances if necessary, including copays, self pay balances, purchased products, DME, etc.
- Maintain patient consent, including surgical or procedural, parental, financial consent records, ABNs etc, both paper & electronically.
- Assist in preparing exam rooms before or after patient appointments as needed.
- Ensure adherence to healthcare laws, rules and regulations.
- Ensure quality measures including compliance, safety, patient satisfaction and staff productivity.
- Assist in maintaining OSHA compliance.
- Assist in maintaining HIPPA compliance.
- Assist in MIPPs compliance.
- Assist in sending samples for laboratory analysis.
- Oversee & manage all paperwork for patient care, medical compliance and all levels of reporting.
- Prepare & arrange information materials for patients.
- Plan, Coordinate & Prepare follow up care protocols for patient via Dr. Barnett medical supervision.
Align Foot & Ankle is a drug free workplace. Applicants selected for employment may be required to submit a pre-employment drug test and background check.
- Start date: As soon as possible.
- Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30AM - 4:30PM, unless otherwise agreed upon by Dr. Barnett or Practice Manager.
- Align Foot and Ankle Dress Code: Align Foot and Ankle scrubs will be issued and should be worn whenever employee is acting as a representative of the Company. Please wear scrubs until your AFA officially scrubs arrive. Closed toe shoes must be worn while in clinic. Additional information for the Standards of Conduct can be found in Section 5 of the Employee Agreement.
