Our client is a Fortune 100 company & the world's largest manufacturer of construction equipment.

 

TITLE: Buyer/Purchaser I

POSITION: Contract, 12mos

LOCATION: Peoria, IL (Hybrid - 3+ days onsite per week)

AUTHORIZATION: W-2 or C2C

RATE: $18-21ph W2 + Benefits / $**ph+ C2C or Self Corp

*Rate fluctuates depending on experience & overall fit

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Bill rate range: $30-33

Duration: 12 months 

 

Ideal profile:

• Fresh out of school with supply chain focused bachelors degree / just rolling off a logistics type internship. Young, hungry, and driven candidates do well in these position. 

Job Description 

• The main function of a buyer is to purchase machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies or services necessary for the operation of an establishment. A typical buyer is responsible for buying goods and services for use by their company or organization.

Typical task breakdown:

• This role will be accountable for working with service owners to understand requirements, raise spend approval requests, managing requisitions & ordering, Invoice processing & grief resolution, and Supplier management

Day to Day % breakdown: 

• 40% Supplier management: performance, quality, negotiation, etc.
• 30% Purchasing: bids, quotes, purchase orders, etc.
• 30% Shipment management: monitoring shipments, quality, etc.

Work environment: 

• Hybrid or fully onsite 

Education & Experience Required: 

• Bachelors degree in related field (supply chain, finance, business admin, etc.) w/ 0-2 years of experience (internships will be considered) 
• Associates degree in related field (supply chain, finance, business admin, etc.) w/ 2-4 years of experience (internships will be considered) 

Technical Skills 

(Required)

• Ability to analyze price proposals and other technical data
• Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to purchasing
• Knowledge of supply chain management – particularly ordering process and hardware supply chains
• Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel

(Desired) 

• Experience working with an enterprise level company
• Experience in Billing and Invoicing
• Experience with CAT systems
