Our client is a Fortune 100 company & the world's largest manufacturer of construction equipment.

 

TITLE: Buyer/Purchaser III

POSITION: Contract, 12mos

LOCATION: Peoria/Mossville/Chillicothe , IL OR Clayton, NC (Hybrid - 3+ days onsite per week)

AUTHORIZATION: W-2 or C2C

RATE: $24-27ph W2 + Benefits / $30ph+ C2C or Self Corp

*Rate fluctuates depending on experience & overall fit

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The main function of a buyer is to purchase machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies or services necessary for the operation of an establishment. A typical buyer is responsible for buying goods and services for use by their company or organization.

 

This role will be accountable for working with service owners to understand requirements, raise spend approval requests, managing requisitions & ordering, Invoice processing & grief resolution, and Supplier management

 

Day to Day:

40% Supplier management: performance, quality, negotiation, etc.

30% Purchasing: bids, quotes, purchase orders, etc.

30% Shipment management: monitoring shipments, quality, etc.

 

Work environment:

Hybrid or fully onsite

 

Education/ Experience Required:

Bachelors degree in related field (supply chain, finance, business admin, etc.) w/ 5-7 years of experience (internships will be considered)

Associates degree in related field (supply chain, finance, business admin, etc.) w/ 7-10 years of experience (internships will be considered)

Ability to analyze price proposals and other technical data

Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information

Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to purchasing

Knowledge of supply chain management – particularly ordering process and hardware supply chains

Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel

Power BI

Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, negotiation skills and interpersonal skills

Proactive, high attention to detail. Able and willing to follow up quickly

Certifications to look out for:

Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.)

Certified in Production and Inventory management (CPIM)

Certified in Integration Resource Management (CIRM)

 

(Desired)

Experience working with an enterprise level company

Experience in Billing and Invoicing

Experience with CAT systems

Adobe Acrobat

Guided Buy / NexGen (only some teams use this)

SAP / LOGNET (only some teams use this)
