Job Summary:
The ADAS Calibration Technician is responsible for performing diagnostics and calibrations on vehicles equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The technician ensures that all sensors, cameras, radars, and other ADAS components are accurately calibrated to meet OEM specifications, ensuring vehicle safety and system performance. This role requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform ADAS calibrations on various vehicles using OEM and aftermarket tools, ensuring compliance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Conduct pre-scan and post-scan diagnostic tests to identify any necessary repairs or calibrations required for ADAS systems.
- Use Revv and other relevant research tools to identify the necessary calibrations, services, and procedures for specific vehicle models.
- Work with OEM software (Ford, GM, Nissan, Honda, etc.) and aftermarket diagnostic tools to execute precise calibrations.
- Assist in verifying proper sensor alignment and functionality after collision repairs or windshield replacements.
- Ensure accurate documentation of calibration processes and results for each vehicle, maintaining compliance with company and industry standards.
- Collaborate with body shop teams, estimators, and service advisors to keep them informed of calibration statuses and any potential issues.
- Maintain and calibrate equipment used for ADAS diagnostics and testing to ensure optimal operation.
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed, and equipment is used in compliance with OSHA standards and manufacturer protocols.
- Stay updated on the latest ADAS technologies and calibration techniques through ongoing training and professional development.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical training in automotive repair or diagnostics is a plus.
- Experience working with ADAS technologies, automotive electronics, or diagnostic tools.
- Strong knowledge of OEM calibration requirements and the ability to use OEM software (e.g., Ford, GM, Nissan, Honda).
- Familiarity with pre- and post-scan diagnostic procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to vehicle safety.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work closely with body shops and other technicians.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in ADAS calibration (I-CAR, ASE, etc.) or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of OEM calibration software and tools.
- Experience in collision repair or automotive diagnostics.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, kneel, and work in various physical positions for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting and carrying tools and equipment (up to 50 lbs).
