Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to join our team at Synerfac. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and calibrating process instrumentation devices, electrical power distribution and monitoring devices, VFD drives and motor controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and calibrate process instrumentation devices, electrical power distribution and monitoring devices, VFD drives and motor controls
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, including calibration, using data collectors, testing and diagnostic tools, and computerized maintenance management systems
  • Investigate equipment failures and determine root cause of failure
  • Participate in the planning and execution of minor and major shutdowns
  • Coordinate with production and other departments for feedback on the functionality of machinery and equipment to help resolve equipment problems
  • Read and follow flow diagrams, mechanical configuration drawings and P&ID drawings
  • Conduct scheduled, unscheduled, and preventive maintenance of process and environmental equipment in accordance with the SOP, Safety Health & Environment policies, and current Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot and repair plant instrumentation, transmitters, analyzers, control valves, switches, relays
  • Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, clean, repair, and reassemble equipment such as MCCs, motors, instruments, valves, according to oral and written instructions
  • Assist in the development and ongoing improvement of the plant mechanical integrity program
  • Improve plant reliability by developing control methodologies and implementing new technologies
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and repair of all electrical systems and components in the facility. The electrical systems include, but are not limited to, field and lab instruments, MCCs, VFDs and PLCs.
  • Provide technical support for the industrial Ethernet network and the HMI control system.
Requirements
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC equipment and Wonderware factory automation software knowledge is preferred.
  • 3 years of Electromechanical and/or Instrumentation & Electrical experience
  • Working knowledge of Programmable Electronic Systems (DCS, PLC), and the HMIs that support these
  • Must be familiar with VFD structure and be able to determine causes of failure and be able to repair (prefer AB experience)
  • Ability to read and understand P&ID drawings, schematic drawings, control loop drawings, logic diagram and ladder diagram
  • Mechanical and pneumatic aptitude
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot and repair plant instrumentation, transmitters, analyzers, control valves, switches, relays
