Job Description:

We are looking for a highly adaptable and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our fast-growing, small business. This role requires someone who can wear multiple hats and work effectively in a dynamic, ever-changing environment. The ideal candidate is organized, flexible, and able to thrive amidst a bit of chaos, balancing various tasks to support the financial success of multiple projects.

As a Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of ongoing projects, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, budgeting, and compliance. Your ability to adapt to shifting priorities and work collaboratively across departments will be essential to your success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage cashflow.
  • Manage A/P, A/R, and WIP.
  • Month end close reconciliations.
  • Payroll coordination w/outsource vendor.
  • Manage financial aspects of multiple projects, including tracking project costs, revenue, and budgets.
  • Prepare and review project-specific financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate and timely billing, including tracking work in progress and percent-completion revenue recognition.
  • Monitor project expenses and ensure they align with project budgets.
  • Reconcile project accounts and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reports as needed.
  • Work with CPA for tax preparations.
  • Manage insurance requirements and policies renewals.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in cashflow management, forecasting and specialty reporting a MUST.
  • HR risk management experience highly preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in finance/accounting or a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced, small business environment.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles, project cost tracking, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a chaotic, fast-moving environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • A proactive problem-solver with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs.

Job Type

  • This is a full-time position.

  • This position will be based out of our office located in Downtown San Diego.

  • Salary Range $70k - 90k.
