Property Accountant/Accounting Manager

Job Summary: The Property Accountant/Manager will be responsible for managing the financial operations of assigned properties, including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This role requires a strong understanding of property management accounting and excellent analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain monthly financial statements for assigned properties.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and collections.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Monitor property budgets and prepare variance reports.
- Assist in the preparation of annual operating budgets and forecasts.
- Coordinate with property management to resolve financial discrepancies and issues.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
- Prepare audit schedules and assist with external audits.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in property management or real estate.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI) and MS Excel.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and property management accounting practices.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
