Bay Area CPA firm with a long history (over 5 decades) of providing exceptional service to our individual and business clients is looking to add Senior Tax Manager to our team of professionals.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The position of Senior Manager is responsible for the timely, accurate, and efficient preparation of all clients' tax returns whether prepared personally or by other team members. Advanced technical skills in a variety of tax and accounting areas is required (CPA preferred) along with proven management and supervisory skills.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting
- CPA or Enrolled Agent with GAAP financial statement experience (will also consider a CPA Candidate)
- 6+ years of public accounting tax experience; preparing complex individual, partnership, corporate and fiduciary tax returns
- Minimum of 3 years experience preparing multi-state tax returns and reviewing the work of other accountants and tax preparers
- Strong tax research skills
- Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Experience performing client financial statement compilations and reviews
- Advanced technical skills in a variety of tax and accounting areas
- Proficient in Lacerte tax software, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), and QuickBooks (Desktop and Online).

- Able to seamlessly switch between clients and projects while juggle priorities to meet client deadlines
- Work independently as well as with other staff, in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Superior communication skills, both verbal and written: Able to communicate clearly and effectively with all types of clients and all levels of management
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new software and technology
- Proficiency in use of computer tax preparation, tax research, and tax planning software programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare individual, partnership, corporate, S-corp, trust, and non-profit tax returns
- Review tax returns prepared by other team members
- Actively lead/participate in client tax planning efforts.
- Acts as a resource for tax preparers/ staff on specific tax issues and questions.
- Review/research/resolve client tax notices or tax issues
- Perform tax planning and research
- Financial statement preparation for small to mid-sized business clients
- Review bookkeeping work performed by other staff members
- Analyze client records and books to produce compiled GAAP based financial statements
- Prepare and review client sales and use tax filings
- Prepare and review client payroll tax returns
- Oversee and review annual California personal property tax filing for various counties (571-Ls)
- Spearhead and manage company efficiency/standardization initiatives to completion

This position can be structured as either a salary full-time position (Full-time salary range is $90,000 to $175,000) or Part-time/hourly. (Part-time/hourly rate will be determined based on experience)
We are looking for the person that will be the best fit for our firm and our clients, and are willing to be flexible with the schedule / hours for the right candidate.
This position is required to be in office at our Campbell, CA location. There may be an opportunity for hybrid work in the future.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person (Campbell California)
