Organization:

Garden State Commercial Services was formed to fill the need for a high quality specialty commercial restoration contractor to serve the exterior preservation and restoration requirements of commercial, industrial, multi-family residential, governmental and institutional properties in the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut tri-state area & with the acquisition of Garden State Brickface & Siding is now able to cater to single family consumers, also.

Basic Function and Initial Objectives:

The Sales & Marketing Director will report directly to the President and shall be responsible for:

  • Organizing and developing all aspects of the sales and marketing efforts of the company to produce consistent and quantifiable quality leads;
  • Developing and implementing a corporate policy to strategically and productively market the company's services, focusing on reaching the decision makers of potential clients;
  • Hiring, training, and supporting the development of quality sales representatives capable of estimating and developing proposals for small to large projects;
  • Developing employment strategies for long-term development and retention of quality sales and marketing personnel;
  • Developing and motivating a cutting edge sales force fully equipped to communicate and negotiate with sophisticated consumers to "close the deal."
  • Achieving the stated goals and objectives within an established budget developed by company.
  • Assist the operations department with customer service issues arising from sales related misunderstandings.

The Sales & Marketing Director should achieve the following major objectives in the first twelve months:

  • Attain an in-depth understanding of the company's scope of operation.
  • Develop an extensive understanding of the company's pricing structure, including cost sources for developing the prices and the profit margins the company requires to grow yet remain competitive within the industry.
  • Direct the marketing/telemarketing efforts of the company in such a manner as to effect corporate goals.
  • Create a demanding, mutually respectful, supportive relationship with employees.
  • Educate and develop personnel under the Sales and Marketing Director's control intro focused, goal oriented, efficient and energetic company-oriented individuals.

Key Immediate Responsibilities:

  • Develop an immediate rapport and positive working relationship with present personnel.
  • Create a realistically quantifiable achievement plan of action based on the present resources of the company to achieve an established annual sales goal. This plan should contain a detailed step by step mechanism for the achievement of the goal.
  • Recruit, train and develop the additional people necessary to execute the plan of action.
  • Galvanize this group to remain focused on the attainment of the individual goals that are necessary to achieve the overall annual sales goal.
  • Establish monthly quantifiable quotas which are challenging but attainable.
  • Reach all established goals.

Key Personal Characteristics:

  • Must be intelligent and persuasive with interpersonal skills, able to gain the respect of the company officer and others dealing with the Sales and Marketing Director.
  • Must impart credibility and trust and motivate others similarly.
  • Must have strong communication and articulate skills.
  • Must be able to motivate employees to excel.
  • Must be a hands-on executive. Must be willing to work directly with employees under his or her control until the employees can function efficiently and effectively by themselves.
  • Must have the interpersonal social and professional skills necessary to instill a desire to succeed in the employees.
  • Must be committed to the company's success and the success of others under his or her influence, guidance, or control.
  • Must be willing to do whatever is necessary and devote whatever working hours are necessary to get the job done.

Long-Term Company Objective:

  • To hire an individual who wishes to find "a home" within a small company and become an integral part of the company's development and success.
  • To hire a qualified individual with a degree in Business from an accredited college or university, followed by a minimum of five years experiences in sales, marketing and operational management.
  • To hire a committed individual to be responsible for the daily sales, marketing and general operations of the company.
