Accounting Assistant
Join a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to making a positive impact in our community We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support our finance team and ensure smooth day-to-day accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
- Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
- Support monthly and year-end closings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist in preparing financial reports and documentation for audits and board meetings.
- Maintain organized files for financial records and compliance purposes.
- Provide administrative support to the accounting department as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 1-2 years of accounting experience, nonprofit experience a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Commitment to the mission and values of the nonprofit sector.
