We are offering a unique opportunity for an Accounting Clerk located in HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania. This role is on site with a local and reputable non profit organization. You will be joining a team to assist in managing their accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. This position demands a skilled individual proficient in account reconciliation, data entry, and invoice processing.


Responsibilities:


• Analyze and charge expenses to the correct general ledger accounts and cost centers based on descriptions on vendor invoices, check requests, or rent vouchers.

• Accurately and efficiently process customer credit applications.

• Maintain accounts payable records in line with records retention policies and procedures.

• Ensure all payments have received proper authorizations and enter invoice records into the system for payment.

• Timely and accurately process checks, issuing stop payments when necessary.

• Update existing vendor names and data, including W9 and 1099 information.

• Facilitate payment of overdue invoices by sending reminders or coordinating meetings.

• Apply customer payments and credit memos in accordance with fiscal procedures.

• Verify discrepancies and resolve billing issues, recommending adjustments when appropriate.

• Generate reports detailing accounts receivable status.

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
