Job Description:

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Specialist to join our non-profit client in Cincinnati, Ohio. This is a full-time, onsite position that offers a competitive salary range of $50,000 to $60,000 annually. This is a contract to hire role.

As a Human Resources Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the organization’s mission by managing various HR functions and ensuring a positive work environment. You will be responsible for overseeing the recruitment process, administering employee benefits, and ensuring compliance with employment laws. Your expertise will help shape HR policies and procedures, and you will be a key resource for employees and management alike.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and Onboarding: Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding. Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent.

  • Employee Benefits Administration: Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, and vision insurance. Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries and ensure timely enrollment and changes.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Stay updated on HR best practices and legal requirements to mitigate risks.

  • HR Policies and Procedures: Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures. Provide guidance to management and employees on policy interpretation and application.

  • Employee Relations: Handle employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, attendance, and leave records. Ensure data integrity and confidentiality.

  • Training and Development: Conduct training and development programs for staff to enhance skills and knowledge. Identify training needs and coordinate external training opportunities.

  • Performance Management: Assist with performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and feedback sessions. Support managers in addressing performance issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 4 years of HR experience, preferably in a non-profit organization.

  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
