Description:
As an integral member of the GM team this individual will perform research related to mRNA therapeutics to strength the platform and support various programs.
As one of the key team members, this individual will work with scientists across different functional groups and therapeutic areas to discover and develop next generation biologics through interrogation of RNA-related technologies.
In vitro transcription to produce mRNA at different scales to support the platform development and therapeutic programs.
RNA Purification using affinity chromatography (AKTA) and other strategies for purification.
Quality control assays for mRNAs like electrophoresis, ELISA, qPCR, etc.
Perform cell-based assays, such as cell culture, transfection, and flow cytometry.
Work closely with the manager and cross-functional team members on multiple tasks with the ability to analyze, interpret, and present data.
Assist in ordering reagents from internal and external suppliers and communicating with CROs.
Generate reliable and reproducible data in a timely manner.
Read and adapt scientific literature to accomplish assignments.
Maintain electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN) in compliance with the Company Laboratory Notebook Policy.
Stay updated and in compliance on all departmental and corporate training.
Qualifications:
MS in molecular biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering or related field with 0-2 years of experience in biotherapeutics or genetic medicine or BS with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant industry experience.
Hands-on experience with nucleic acid preparation, purification (AKTA), QC, and cell-based assays.
Working knowledge of related tools/software (SnapGene, Prism, FlowJo, Excel, PowerPoint etc.).
Self-motivated, hard-working, detail-oriented, resourceful, and able to work in a fast-paced team environment with demonstrated problem-solving skills.
High-quality written and oral communication skills and the ability to excel in a collaborative environment.
Knowledge of RNA molecular biology, production, quality control, and cell-based assays.
Demonstrate broad and versatile technical expertise within discipline.

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
