Phlebotomist

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, decontaminating work areas, and updating patient information. Key responsibilities include:
• Collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures.
• Clearly and courteously explaining the venipuncture process and other specimen collections (e.g., urine or fecal).
• Demonstrating techniques using straight and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understanding all physicians' orders.
• Matching laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as required by test orders.
• Ensuring 100% accuracy when checking test requisitions or computer labels against scripts.
• Packaging specimens for transport and storing them at the required temperature to maintain specimen integrity.
• Complying with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attending annual department training sessions.
• Answering telephone inquiries and reading laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
Hard Skills- 1 year of phlebotomy experience
- Experience with hard sticks
- Straight needle experience
- Centrifuging/Processing/Accessioning samples
- Good communication skills
- Thick skin
- Ability to work in a busy environment
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 4 Month(s).
Work SiteThis is a fully on-site position in Toms River, New Jersey.
