Phlebotomist II

We are seeking a highly skilled Phlebotomist II to join our team at Quest Diagnostics. As a Phlebotomist II, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients and preparing them for laboratory testing.
Key Responsibilities- Collect blood samples from patients using a variety of techniques, including venipuncture and capillary puncture.
- Prepare blood samples for laboratory testing by labeling, centrifuging, and splitting them as required.
- Enter patient registration and test order information into our laboratory information system.
- Process billing information and collect payments from patients as required.
- Perform departmental-related clerical duties, including data entry, inventory, and answering phones.
- Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
- Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
- Minimum two years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment.
The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects. Objects in the weight range of 1 to 15 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects in the weight range of 16 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; and objects in the weight range of 26 to 40 pounds are seldom lifted and carried.
Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time; requires long hours of eye and hand coordination. Must be able to perform repetitive tasks with dominant hand frequently to constantly throughout the day.
Knowledge and Skills- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
- Superior customer focus and ability to communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors, and patients.
- Ability to accelerate and embrace change throughout Quest.
- Knowledge of our business.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
- Phlebotomy certification (required in certain states, e.g. California, Nevada, Washington, and Louisiana)
